Jan has been in the real estate industry in northwest Washington since 1997 working with clients selling their homes and buyers investing in their futures. She consistently exceeds the sales of other real estate agents, and uses her expertise, training, connections, and experience to provide a stressless transaction. She created and manages the Ellingson Home Group team, which allows her to provide a wider variety of services and support. As a member of the Washington REALTORS® Senior Faculty Jan teaches ABR, ABRM, GREEN, GRI, SFR, SRES, WCR Designation Courses, Professional Standards, Ethics, At Home With Diversity, Mortgage Fraud, Environmental Hazards, HAFA, the Washington licensing courses of CORE and Transition, along with many classes she has written. Jan was named Instructor of the Year by Washington REALTORS® in 2006, and in 2008 she received the EDDY Award for her contributions to excellence in real estate education. She has been honored with her local and state REALTOR® of the Year awards, and is a Past President and Treasurer of Washington REALTORS®. She is a past President of the North Puget Sound Association of REALTORS®, and has served on numerous REALTOR® committees on the local, state and national levels. She served as the 2011 Regional Vice President for Region 12 of the National Association of REALTORS®, and is a graduate of the NAR Leadership Academy. Her REALTOR® volunteerism has extended to building homes around the country with the REALTOR® Habitat for Humanity project, as well as leading a team of 15 REALTORS® to Louisiana for a Katrina Disaster Relief build. She is currently serving as President on the Skagit Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors and NAR President’s Liaison to New Zealand, and has been appointed as the Vice-Chair for the Professional Standards Forum at NAR in 2012.
Further, she is a member of the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council (REBAC), the Woman’s Council of REALTORS® (WCR) 2010 and 2011 State Treasurer, Council of Residential Specialists (CRS), Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers (CRB) 2012 State President Elect, Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI), served on the Northwest Multiple Listing Service Disciplinary Review Board , the Advisory Board to the Skagit County Planning and Development Department, and is past Commissioner and Vice-Chair of the Skagit County Planning Commission. She also served on the Department of Licensing’s RCW 18.85 review Task Force.
Finally, and most important, Jan is a practicing real estate professional as a Managing Broker at Keller Williams Western Realty in Mount Vernon, Washington. She lives in Sedro Woolley, Washington with her husband Van. Jan and Van have been foster parents to 22 pregnant teenagers. In her spare time, she enjoys singing, golfing, and travelling to new adventures
